Today we were supposed to have a day off, a rare event, and we were going to go to the zoo (something I love to do). However we have a fishpond in our garden which appeared to be losing (a lot of) water when we got home last night. So we decided that the zoo would have to be postponed and the day would be spent working on doing whatever we needed to do in order to save our fish.
Anyway further investigation showed that our pond liner was fine and without getting too boring the problem was with the waterfall.
The thing is, a few hours later I am wet, and muddy up to my elbows, and have had, quite simply a wonderful day. The sun has been shining, all the fish are fine despite having a lack of water yesterday. Additionally we have frogs, tadpoles, newts, water boatmen, damsel flies and all sorts of assorted wildlife that I can't name.
A gorgeous day, and, isn't it funny that in the middle of such a busy time with shows and fairs and readings that something so simple can bring so much pleasure.
