This is a picture of a man tied and hanging upside down. Sounds Horrific doesn't it? Until you look at the picture more closely.
The first thing you notice is the look on the man's face. It's serene, almost peaceful. In one set of cards that I use there are tools lying in the field behind. It speaks to me of someone who is waiting for release and is totally aware that there is nothing he can do but wait.
This is so reminiscent of times in my life. There have been situations, sometimes very negative situations that there is nothing I can do to change. There have been times when I have tried to alter something, or someone but I can't, and no amount of shouting, screaming, reasoning, money or work can change the way things are.
When faced with this I remember the "Hanged Man" and simply let go. Knowing that everything that happens in this world is an illusion anyway, knowing that fretting about something is going to change nothing, knowing that I am not responsible for another's actions, I Let go and find peace.
