What a year it has been leading up to this and how much I've learnt.
The things I've learnt include how to stage a show, how awkward some theatres can be, how you're never ever going to please everyone and how you really shouldn't believe your own publicity.
The importance of laughter, especially at yourself, how Spirit doesn't ever let you down, but will constantly stretch you. How much I like Pina Coladas, especially in hot weather by a pool. The importance of believing in yourself but not allowing yourself to get carried away with your perceived importance. That Derek makes a brilliant manager, and how much he actually does at a show, and how much he believes in me.
How much I love Mallorca. That tech guys and the level of technical support that you get from theatres varies probably more than anything else. That it really is always the audience that make a show . The importance of not having alcohol in an auditorium. That there will always be people who don't like what I do. Again that I have to laugh at myself.
The list goes on.
What a learning curve this year has been, and what a learning curve next year will be, and the year after and . . . .
Come along and see me and don't forget to hang around after and say "hi". The next year is going to be brilliant!
